MELANOMA: To treat this form, initially a biopsy is done so that the form and situation of cancer on the skin can be well evaluated before deciding on the treatment approach. Small patches are taken to perform excisional biopsies and when larger patches are taken, a punch biopsy is performed on that area to evaluate the condition of the cancer. While the treatment related to this form of cancer is still ongoing, the most common approach used in this case is Mohs micrographic surgery as per the condition of the patient.
Other treatment approaches are also considered that do not really involve medical treatment. These treatment approaches are used as a suppression factor and are usually considered in the cases of non-melanoma forms of skin cancer. Coffee has been seen to impact the spread of cancer. It reduces the chances of the onset of non-melanoma cancer. Other than this, hypericin when utilized with photodynamic therapy is known to have a cancer-suppressing effect as well.
Paclitaxel, also known as taxol, has been used for quite a long time to treat several forms of cancer. Usually used in cases of skin cancer, this is considered an additional factor to help the process of chemotherapy and due to its impact on the cancer cell, it is also known as an anti-cancer agent. However, even if any non-medical agent is being used for the treatment, a medical expert should be kept in the loop to ensure the usage is safe and beneficial for the patient in all aspects.
