Anne Marie “Ree” Drummond is an American blogger, food writer, author, television personality and also a photographer. Ree Drummond has recently lost a lot of weight which brought on a lot of question towards her and how she lost weight.
How did Ree Drummond Lost Weight?
Ree gained weight over the last three years and wanted to slim down to make an appearance in a wedding. She was motivated to lose weight to feel better about herself and gain more energy, so she decided it was time to lose weight and she also shared her story on her own.
Ree Drummond Diet Regimen:
Ree shared that she tried to achieve a calorie deficit most days and expended more calories than her body required, she used to calculate her calorie intake every day and wrote each item down to get a daily total calorie.
Ree also measured her food by using a digital food scale in grams which was more effective than just measuring a cup and she also said, “It really woke me up to the portions I had grown accustomed to eating!”
She also started to eat more protein as she usually ate just 15% to 20% protein, she started to eat something that had more protein in it and turned the percentage to 30-40% protein intake.
She also mentioned her favorite protein food that are low fat plain Greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, lean beef, chicken, turkey, salmos, cod, raw almonds, egg whites, swiss cheese, 1% milk, homemade protein balls, spinach, an apple a day, kale and carrots.
She also mentioned that she ate less sugar and said, “if I am eating X calories today, do I want to blow 300 of those on a doughnut? Or do I instead want to spend 50 of them on a piece of good dark chocolate to get my fix, then keep eating things with more nutritive content?”
Ree not only told us about what she did to lose weight but she also told us about the things that she avoided while losing weight. She said that she did not do keto, intermittent fasting, buy specialty diet food, use a trainer and also did not join a weight loss program.
Ree Drummond Workout Regimen:
Ree made sure that she exercised everyday and made it exercise a regular part of her day whether she walked her dog or did some rowing machine. She mentioned, “I learned that making time each day to exercise simply had to be done because just like having a baby, there is never a good time.”
Ree walked 2 to 3 miles a day, did floor version of Pilates, she did exercise 6 days a week and sometimes she even did it twice a day. She also did lunges, squats, straight leg deadlifts and calf raises which she learned from her husband, she did all those for four days a week.
Ree has lost 43 pounds, which made her feel good about herself but she also said that now she is not worried about her weight, she just wants to keep getting the feeling when she is exercising, moving more and being mindful of eating.
